Every once in a while, you meet an individual that completely changes your life. For me, this was Nina. I met her in a business networking group that we both belong to and instantly connected. Her love for life is what drew me to Nina. Her spunk and zest are refreshing.
We talked about shooting some new headshots with her and doing something fun with her product placement. We shared ideas, wardrobe choice, hair & makeup and then scheduled a date.
Nina arrived at my studio loaded down! I always like my clients to bring their entire closet so that we can make choices that will best achieve the “looks” we are looking to achieve during our photo session.
Once we started…it was magic! We popped open a bottle of wine, chatted and shot! My mission when I shoot is to make my client feel comfortable and like we are in their living room just chatting about life and documenting our conversation. We laughed, and drank, and laughed some more and I think we captured my authentic, true, beautiful, powerful, and amazing friend, Nina.
After we delivered her images Nina wrote me the sweetest review ever and I thought that I would share her words with you. This right here is why I do what I do.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH KEN GEHRING, The Experience!
I met Ken Gehring one year ago and felt a connection immediately. He was different from any other photographer I have met in that he wasn’t about creating your cookie cutter image but about creating and highlighting something unique and different about his subject. I knew I wanted him to do a photo shoot of me to help take my business to a new level and re-brand me.
My experience with Ken began with meeting with him and he listened intently to what my hearts desire was about how I want to be portrayed in business and the look I wanted to achieve. He knew exactly what I wanted and shared some examples of what he felt I wanted and he was spot on.
When I arrived to his studio, I was made to feel at ease but he was in control at the same time. I trusted Ken the entire way through the evening in what he wanted me to wear, how to wear it, no shoes, shoes, no jewelry or this picture with jewelry…it was an amazing time to see this artist at work!
I loved watching him in his element in every aspect of what he was doing….from which lense to use, the lighting, what I should sit on but he also let me just do my thing as well. I felt FREE to be me!! That is what I loved about my evening with Ken….no inhibitions and I felt at ease to get out of any comfort zones!
It was truly an experience with Ken that I will never forget! It was an honor to have him “shoot” me. After my daughter saw some of the results of his work with me, she wishes she could have him do her wedding but definitely wants him to do a Mother/Daughter shoot!
